The elite photographers get their snapshots of a changing
India toasted by the wellheeled in the metros. But amateurs
also get a chance to record the big moments
around them. The platform is the annual National Photo Contest
organised by the Photo Division of the Ministry of Information
and Broadcasting. The picture to the left, which won the top prize last year, was shot
by Vivek Desai of Ahmedabad. The winning photos have been shown across the country. The 21st edition of the contest will be announced soon.
